What is new for next season?
We’re building a new guest lodge with ensuite plumbing in all the rooms. Four single rooms will be available and all the beds will be ¾ size with extra long mattresses. A larger drying room will be added to this building and a new hot tub will be set on the deck.

Our current ground floor will be gutted and a new recreation area will be set up with a bar, TV area, stretching room and games tables.

Why choose Monashee Powder Snowcats?
For steep terrain, for deep powder, for sweet runs and for the quality of care our capable staff provides each of our guests every day.

How do I book a trip?

What is included in the cat skiing packages?
Skiing, accommodation, meals and transport from our meeting place is included.

What is the elevation of the lodge?
Tsuius Lodge is centrally located in our 17,000 acres and at 5,200 feet in elevation.

How many runs do you average in a day?
Snowcats run in all kinds of weather so you can expect to ski 10,000 to 18,000 vertical feet per day.

What is the annual snowfall?
Mt. Tsuius is on the windward side of BC’s Monashee Mountains, where a monstrous annual snowfall of 60 feet is common.

What is your terrain like?
Steep, deep and sweet ... We have 4,800 vertical feet of peaks and bowls, trees, glades and cut-blocks all the way down to the Shuswap River. Above the treeline, we have roads to 5 areas of alpine ridges and peaks, rising to an elevation of 8,000 feet where you can stand “On Top of the World” - a run with a view that will literally take your breath away. Below the treeline, we can choose from many treed or naturally-gladed runs descending through some of Canada’s oldest spruce and cedar forests.

Are snowboarders welcome?
Of course!

Do you have to be an expert skier?
You do not have to have powder experience, but must be able to easily handle the type of terrain found on black diamond runs of major lift serviced ski areas.

What are the rooms like?
We are building a new guest lodge this summer! All rooms will have ensuite plumbing and extra large single beds with down quilts. Some rooms will have queen beds plus a single in the room, so couples no longer have to push the twin beds together. There will be 4 single rooms available for guests who need a single room. We will do our best to accommodate special requests for these rooms.

What about ski rentals?
Monashee Powder has a selection of ‘fat’ powder skis; We now carry a selection of new Prior Overlord skis which have an early rise tip. Or you can also try our K2 Hellbent reverse camber skis for $35 per day. Our regular powder skis are Atomic Heli Daddy and Volkl Explosive. These are available for guests at a cost of $25.00 per day. Poles are provided along with rental skis. Guests must bring their own ski boots. The majority of our guides and guests use the wider powder skis. For maximum enjoyment of your holiday we recommend that you also use them.

Do you provide avalanche safety gear?
Each of our guests is equipped with an avalanche transceiver and given comprehensive instruction on its use for search techniques. MPS has recently upgraded to Barryvox transceivers and our guides and guests have found them very easy to use.

The guides carry all the essential gear and equipment to handle emergencies in the field. There is on-going communication between the guides, snowcats and lodge. The snow cats are outfitted with additional rescue equipment, such as oxygen, a toboggan, spare skis and poles and extra probes.

What kind of certification do your guides have?
Monashee Powder Snowcats is dedicated to providing a high standard of professionalism and safety that is mandated by the HeliCat Canada Association. As members of this association our guides are trained and certified by the Canadian Avalanche Association (CAA) and our lead guides also have Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG) certification.guest_info.htmlgetting_there.htmlmap.htmlrentals.htmlcontact_us.htmlmap.htmlrates.htmlhttp://www.helicatcanada.com/http://www.avalanche.ca/http://www.acmg.ca/shapeimage_1_link_0shapeimage_1_link_1shapeimage_1_link_2shapeimage_1_link_3shapeimage_1_link_4shapeimage_1_link_5shapeimage_1_link_6shapeimage_1_link_7shapeimage_1_link_8shapeimage_1_link_9
